The ingredients needed to make Fish kadhi:
- Prepare 3-4 nos fish
- Get 15-17 slices dry coconut

- Get 1 tsp or as per taste red chilly powder

Heat the pan on medium heat, add ghee. Once the ghee is hot enough add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, asafoetida and red chilies. It is more watery than Punjabi kadhi and I particularly like the sweet-sourness that is typical of gujarati cooking. This kadhi is great to eat with plain rice or khichdi.
Steps to make Fish kadhi:
- First wash the fish pieces. Add salt, red chilly powder and lemon juice marinate fish keep aside for 1 hr if needed. after that soak dry red chilly in water for 15 min.
- Now in mixing jaar add dry coconut slices, garlic cloves, zeera dry red chilly and water grind it make fine paste.
- After that add paste in pan add 1 & 1/2 glass of water in it. Pinch of Orange Red food colour mix well. Now add salt as per your taste mix well. Cook for 15 min on low to medium heat.
- When it starts boiling add kokam pieces in it.
- Shallow fry the head and tail of fish in 1 tbsp oil. Add it in kadhi (on the last few minutes). After that cook kadhi only for 5 min then switch off the gas flame. Serve hot kadhi with fish fry and boiled Rice.
- Note : 1. Add head and tail In fish kadhi. And another part of the fish, coat with rava or fish fry masala and fry. Serve it with kadhi. 2. Serve it only with simple boiled rice (salt is compulsory to add in rice ok š). No need on baghara hua chawal. 3. No need to add oil in kadhi.
It is more watery than Punjabi kadhi and I particularly like the sweet-sourness that is typical of gujarati cooking. This kadhi is great to eat with plain rice or khichdi. Kadhi or karhi is a dish originating from the Indian subcontinent. It consists of a thick gravy based on gram flour, and contains vegetable fritters called pakoras, to which dahi (yogurt) is added to give it a bit of sour taste.
